The free county data files on this site are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share, chart and build on them, including in a business, as long as you give credit.

The credit line

Please use this wording, and keep the "as of" month with the number:

Online, link the credit to the page you took the number from. Do not suggest that Keystone endorses you or your product.

What this license covers

• The files listed on the cite page: the share of court filings by case type for each county, and the share of owners who live elsewhere where we publish it.
• The sentences in those files, which you may quote word for word.

What it does not cover

• Our lead service, market tools, newsletters and anything behind a login. Those are paid products with their own terms.
• The text, design, images and code of this website, which stay all rights reserved.
• Names, addresses or any detail about a person. None is in these files, and none may be added to them.

What the numbers mean

Each number describes the court filings we see in the court records we collect for that county. It is not a count of every case a court hears, and a share can change when our collection changes. Read the method before you draw conclusions. The files are provided as they are, with no warranty, and are not legal or investment advice.

Corrections

If a number looks wrong, tell us at the address on the cite page. We fix it, date the fix, and say so on that page.
